WINNIPEG'S #1 HIT MUSIC STATION
CDI College and Energy 106 want to collect as many new or gently used bras as possible for the third annual Bras for a Cause campaign.
Did you get an eyeful of the hundreds of bras strung up along Main Street last year? Well this year we’re looking to kick it up a notch!
Bras for a Cause is about raising awareness for breast cancer though prevention education and fundraising. Almost 23,000 cases of breast cancer were reported nationwide last year, around 800 in Manitoba alone. This makes breast cancer the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in Canada and sadly, the second most fatal.
Do you know a [breast] cancer survivor? Do it for them.
We’re collecting bras for women dealing with breast cancer, because as the ladies know, braziers ain’t cheap!. We’ll also be collecting donations for the tens of thousands of Canadians who will be affected by cancer this year and until we can find a cure.
You can drop off bras or donations at any of these locations.
Collection is underway until September 27th. The weekend of September 30th the donated bras will be suspended along Main Street, a very visual reminder of support for all of Winnipeg’s Run for the Cure participants.
To find out more or get involved go here. To stay updated visit the Bras for a Cause Facebook or Twitter pages.
Pass on this blog post to anyone you know with a Keep a Breast bracelet, they’ll want to know about this!
