Yup, sometimes complaining on the internet makes things change – like how everyone ripped on how Sonic The Hedgehog looked in the first trailer…well the complainers won – it’s changing.
From Polygon:
The first full trailer for the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog gave us a clear look at the hedgehog in motion, but now it seems that what we’ve seen won’t be what’s in the final cut. In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, director Jeff Fowler said that Sega and Paramount Pictures would rework the hedgehog after an outcry over his appearance, as well as numerous fan edits on social media.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️

“You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes,” Fowler wrote. “It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”
Fowler also used the hashtag #gottafixfast, as well as a wrench emoji, to further confirm that Sonic will indeed be undergoing edits before the movie is finally released in November. It’s a move that’s unprecedented in just how extensive the work will have to be, particularly given that Sonic has already been publicly unveiled. Sonic the Hedgehog is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on Nov. 8.
Some fans have imagined this:
