The 50th anniversary of Folklorama is going on until Saturday!
The celebration of Folklorama isn’t over yet/ We are halfway through week 2, so if you haven’t been be sure to check out some of the fun!
Sarah was able to check out three amazing pavilions last night! She attended the Africa/ Caribbean, Italian, and Irish pavilions, and they not only fed her amazing food, but also showcased some really cool talent.
The Africa/ Caribbean is located in the Grant Park High School gym, and features limbo dancing & a fire show from Prince Jo Jo (Ocho Rios, Jamaica). Along with that, there is tons of dancing and singing to get you moving. Food wise? Expect delicious jerk chicken, curried chicken, calypso ribs, chicken and vegetable rotis, and Jamaican beef patties and MORE. Plus, you can finish with a Pina Colada, or Rum Punch!
The Italian Pavilion is located at 1055 Wilkes Ave. This pavilion tells a love story packed with unbelievable singing, dancing and even some humor! If you love food, come check out this pavilion- pizza, pastas, and LOTS of wines from Italy!
The Irish pavilion is a perfect spot to check out if you love FUN. The entire time you are there volunteers will tell you stories, get you a beer and make sure you have the best time. Learn about the traditions of Irish language, history, music, dance, theatre and more. OH, and get the Bangers and Mash… You won’t regret it.
Happy Folklorama!
