Yesterday was Election Day in Canada, and the results are in!
Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party will remain in power after winning a minority government in Canada’s 43rd federal election.
Some main points to take away from the election include:
– The Liberal Party, led by Justin Trudeau, will form a minority government
– The Bloc Québécois performed well in Quebec- 32 seats
– The Conservative Party swept Alberta, except for an NDP seat in Edmonton
– The Green Party won three seats
– People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier did not win his seat
– The Conservatives appear to have won the popular vote, despite not winning a plurality of seats
Thank you, Canada, for putting your trust in our team and for having faith in us to move this country in the right direction. Regardless of how you cast your vote, our team will work hard for all Canadians.
