Are we really surprised by this news?
The Oscars are taking after the Grammys and have made their 2020 year the least-viewed year of all time.
About 23.6 million people watched this last Sunday. Last year it was actually up to almost 30 million.
2018 was also at a low of 26.5 million.
The Oscars was a ratings disaster for so many reasons. Everybody involved, especially the actors, should try to remember they are in the “entertainment” business. One-sided political commentary sends half the audience packing. And nobody tuned in for a civics lesson.
