Finally, Uber is coming to Winnipeg!
If you are looking for another ridesharing service or even a new job this is a great opportunity!
Uber is set to launch by the end of spring, and if you are interested in becoming a driver, you can now sign up!
Winnipeg was the last major city in Western Canada without Uber or Lyft, so we are happy to welcome it here in the city!
Previously, Uber and Lyft both could not work within Manitoba Public Insurances’ model, now Uber said, it is not perfect, but they have found a way to live within MPI’s rules.
Mayor Brian Bowman said there is room for everyone.
“We want to make sure people have multiple choices for how they get around our growing city,” said Bowman.
Starting today, RideCheck is now available to all riders and drivers in Canada because we are committed to your safety.
Using sensors and GPS data, RideCheck can help detect if a trip goes unusually off-course.
