Not very shocking, but the box office numbers were very low this weekend.
‘Onward’ stayed in the number 1 spot in North America, but brought in some very low numbers.
The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the box office revenue falling to a 20-year low!
We are still waiting on the final numbers (out later today), but the revenue is expected to come in around $56 million. The last time that total ticket sales were that low in North America in September 2000 ($54.5 million).
“Onward” brought in 10.5 million, but has a massive decline of 73 percent from last week.

“I Still Believe” opened to $9.5 million.
“Bloodshot” followed in third place with an estimated $9.3 million.
Theatres are still operating, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some closed in the upcoming weeks.
