With more people working from home comes the rise in foot injuries. We all know that feeling of getting up for a potty break and stubbing your toe on the corner of the coffee table.
That’s why Winnipeg podiatrists are recommending that even if you’re working from home… you should definitely invest in some decent footwear to use around the house.
According to Dr. Landen Kolczycki of Family Foot Clinic “Some people are definitely having things like stubbing their feet or things like heel pain and heavy callous buildup.” he said in a recent interview. “I’ve usually been telling my patients, throughout the pandemic, that they should be putting on their shoes if they’re up and down a whole bunch. If they’re just sitting, then it’s safe to have something to just slide on.”
If this was the push you needed to finally get a pair of Justin Bieber or Post Malones’ Crocs though, do so with caution. “The downside with Crocs is the material they’re made of — they break down pretty quick, so if you are going to wear some Crocs, I would say get a few pairs and update them frequently, every three to six months.”
