The city is looking at having customers pay up front for late night cab services.
Cab Drive Harnek Brar has voiced his concern over late night cab rides, and passengers unable to pay for the service. He deals with people refusing to pay which leads to safety issue for him and his coworkers.
A pilot project is in the works, which would see passengers across Winnipeg having to pay a mandatory minimum cost late at night and overnight. The exact amounts and hours have yet to be worked out.
The pilot is set to run this spring for nine to 12 months.
