The city is looking at increasing more public washrooms downtown.
The City of Winnipeg is be recommended to study “gaps” and “high needs” areas, to find the best locations for public restrooms.
Along with this, they will be looking at business owners to provide public washroom access.
There is no cost announced yet, but there are alternative ways to pay for the facilities including advertising, and partnerships with local businesses.
The main groups of people that would benefit from more public washroom access consist of homelessness, pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, people with disabilities, seniors, and children.
Would you like to see more public restrooms in Winnipeg?
