Many teams are changing their names.
The board of directors for the Neepawa Natives have announced a name change.
They have decided that they will stop using the word ‘Natives’ in association with the team moving forward.
The name change will take effect for the 2021-22 season.
There will be a new name and logo announced at a later date.
The Manitoba Junior Hockey League fully supports the decision made by the Neepawa Board of Director’s to discontinue with their current name and will assist the organization in any way possible to help them during this process. https://t.co/aGqSLtTqKj

They are not the only team to do this. Edmonton’s CFL team will stop using the word ‘Eskimos’ and Washington’s NFL team will be retiring the ‘Redskins’ name and logo.
