Late last night before the province moved into the new critical code red restrictions a change was made to gathering restrictions. It was previously stated that social contacts had to remain to those within your household and that there would be no social gatherings.
That was changed moments before the new restrictions came into effect, now allowing for gathering sizes to be a maximum of five people.
“This applies to ceremonies such as weddings and funerals and social events like banquets and receptions, as well as informal gatherings such as dinners and house parties,” the updated health order states.
Premiere Brian Pallister nor our health minister, Cameron Friesen have made any comments about these last minute changes. However Dr. Brent Roussin tweeted this out last night:
We don’t have time to waste on semantics and legal loopholes #Stayhome to stop the transmission of #COVID19. https://t.co/cYh2WuU5RO
