Well this plan backfired… a Tik Tok star by the name of Tony Piloseno was recently fired from his job at Sherwin Williams after the company discovered his viral Tik Tok account with over a million followers; where he’d mix different colors of paint.

Initially he had told his bosses this was an amazing way to market themselves towards a younger audience, but upon further investigation, the company handed him a letter of termination accusing him of “gross misconduct,” which included the offenses of “wasting properties [and] facilities,” and “seriously embarrass[ing] the Company or its products. Because he was making “these videos during [his] working hours” and with company equipment.
Piloseno denies any wrong doing… saying he paid for the paint himself with his company discount, or occasionally filmed the process of mixing customers paint. He went on to claim there were never any customers in the store while he was filming these videos.
Personally, I don’t think there’s anything “embarrassing” to the company about having millions of people looking at your product and being entertained by the process… Maybe the company executives could learn a thing or two from their younger employees.
