A lot of Manitobans are very upset over the new lockdown measures where Ontario Premiere Doug Ford has announced some very strict border restrictions.
Manitobans wanting to enter the province of Ontario need to have a valid reason or they will be turned away. Valid reasons include things like: work, medical care, transporting goods and exercising Indigenous treaty rights.
Not included on the list of essential travel though, going to the cabin even for Manitobans who pay taxes and own property in Ontario!
“Law enforcement will patrol and in some cases be stationed at provincial border crossings between Ontario and both Manitoba and Quebec and will require people entering Ontario to provide a valid reason for entry,” a spokesperson for the Ontario government said in an email.
Anyone entering or leaving the province will be required to isolate for 14 days. “Consider travel plans carefully,” the province said.
